LOST Season 5 Production Artwork: Jacob's Chamber

This is a limited edition (of 25) print of

the color artist rendition of

Jacob's chamber in the base of Taweret.

I acquired the print from the individual who

purchased the entire lot of the Season 5 Artwork

from the LOST Auction.

The print measures 11" x 17"and is numbered 3/25. It is just beautiful!

I plan on hanging it just beneath Jason Munn's print of
"The Four-Toed Statue", print #6 of the
LOST Undeground Art Project.

Henry Gale Balloon Map

I purchased this limited edition copy of *Henry Gale's*

map to the hot air balloon

from the person who purchased the original

at the LOST Auction. The map is copied

onto one of the 26 ORIGINAL Brothers Karamazov title

pages included in Auction Lot #318.

So this is an original AND a reproduction.....

(but the price was right - my winning bid was $1.09,

so MAJOR WIN!)

D23: Dharma Patch

Amy B./Nerderific also purchased a

D23 Dharma Patch for me (in addition to the

Mega Lotto Jackpot magnet detailed in an earlier post.)

The patch is larger than any of the other

Dharma patches in my collection, measuring

a little more than 4 1/2 inches across.

Both the patch and the magnet are from

the Walt Disney Archives Collection.

According to the back of the packaging,

the Walt Disney Archives recently

unearthed a previously unknown

activity of the Dharma Initiative, known only by

the enigmatic symbol D23.

In truth, D23 is Disney's version of

Comic Con.

arrived. The photo itself

is a screencap from the Season 5

Finale "The Incident Part I".

D23: Mega Lotto Jackpot Magnet

Nerderific/Amy B. was kind enough to

purchase this Mega Lotto Jackpot magnet for me

at D23 last month.

(D23 is Disney's version of Comic-Con.)

It is a magnet version of Hurley's

winning lottery ticket and measures

approximately 3 1/8" x 4".

It is one of the items in the Disney Archives Collection

as noted on the back of the magnet.

It currently is displayed in a grouping with

other LOST-themed magnets on the freezer side

of my refrigerator.

Special thanks to Alex W. who

also purchased a magnet on my behalf.

It is being forwarded to a LOSTie

pal in Canada.

Matthew Fox Wine

I was gifted a bottle of Matthew Fox wine

at the LOSTie party in San Diego.

Jo Garfein was incredibly generous and

presented me with a bottle of Chardonnay.

I was so excited since the wine is not

available in my area. (I searched online as well

and wasn't able to find a distributor that

would ship to Memphis.)

I don't know if

THE Matthew Fox aka Jack Shephard

is in any way associated with

Matthew Fox Vineyards, but in my

little world, I'm going to pretend he stomped

the grapes himself.

Polar Bear Bobble Head

The Polar Bear Bobble Head

was the SDCC Exclusive this year.

I stopped by the Entertainment Earth booth

to see him in person. I had preordered him

(along with the LOST Megos figures)

and knew he wouldn't be shipped until after I

returned home from Comic Con.

I was a little disappointed that landscape-oriented packaging

hadn't been created. It was the same Dharma Initiative box

as the other LOST Bobble Heads, with a Polar Bear

sticker affixed to the box.

The Polar Bear Bobble Head is fierce.

He's a great addition to the

LOST Bobble Head line-up.

A margarita tastes better when it is served

in a glass from the LOST Prop Warehouse

in Hawaii. There are two in the set.

Best as I can determine, the glasses were used in

the Season 1 episode, "Exodus, Part1".

They are background props, holding some

sort of snack - nuts? on the bar

during the Jack and Ana Lucia encounter.

(I can barely detect the colored rim of the
margarita glass when I enlarge the photos.)

"The Numbers" Wristband

I recently admired a wristband that

Jo Garfein was wearing at the LOSTie

party at The Barracks, featuring

home. It is wider than most

Friends are the BEST Gift, But Presents are Great Too!

This is my friend Rob. He is AWESOME.

Rob is a LOSTie as well, and was one of my

housemates at The Barracks.

He has an amazing collection of LOST

memorabilia, he purchased quite a few items

from the Official LOST Auction.

Rob is also quite the wordsmith,

and his blog entries are always

informative and entertaining:

My Mind Bloggles

Rob approached me during the LOSTie

party at The Barracks, stating he had

a surprise for me. A short time later, he brought out one

of the screen-worn "Juliet shirts" he had purchased

during the LOST Auction....

avatar. He photographed my Head-on-a-Stick

wearing the other Juliet shirt from his auction lot.

I thought the opportunity to actually hold Juliet's shirt

was the surprise. I was WRONG-O.

A few days later, Rob presented me

with an intriguing package.

The package was heavy for its size.

I opened it and could make out a curious

shape beneath the bubble wrap.

SURPRISE! It was one of Jin's handcuffs

from the lot that Rob purchased from the

LOST Auction.

It was so cool to hold and handle the handcuff,

it was the first time I had ever held one.

I was surprised by the weight and thanked

my Miss Goody-Two-Shoes mentality that I

have never been arrested.

Like the Juliet shirt, I assumed that Rob brought

the handcuff simply for the purpose of sharing

some of his LOST props with his friends in person.

I was WRONG-O again!

Rob gifted the handcuff to me. For ME! TO KEEP!

Just wow! I was, and am still overwhelmed with his generosity.

The first thing I did upon arrival home

(after kissing the kid and dog)

was to properly frame the handcuff

for display in a shadowbox.

It is one of my most prized pieces of

LOST memorabilia - not only because

it is so freaking AWESOME,

but also because is is also a symbol

of the amazing friendships I have made

through LOST.

Thank you, Rob. You are my hero.

$10 Commission Sketches by Ryan Dunlavey

We Have To Go Back!

My trip to San Diego and Los Angeles had to end sometime,

and I shared a cab with Kiwilostie

to LAX.

I haven't been in an airport

or boarded a plane in the last seven years

without thinking about LOST and looking for references.

I wasn't disappointed.

The seat assignments on my boarding passes

for the return flights

home seemed the perfect ending to the week.

All I needed was a couple of bottles

of vodka.....

Walt Disney Studios Tour

Monday morning brought an end to our stay at The Barracks.

After a dash to the post office to mail home the assorted

banners, boxes, posters and swag, we loaded up into several

cars and began a caravan to Burbank and a tour

of the Walt Disney Studios. Comixguru is employed

by Disney and was extremely generous to

arrange a tour for us.

I dozed most of the way, but was awake long enough

to realize that everything I have heard about

Los Angeles traffic is TRUE. Double ugh.

Our first stop on the tour was the commissary.

We had a delicious lunch - the options were

AMAZING - much more appetizing than

the Lean Cuisine frozen entree I

usually eat at my desk.

The tour through Disney Studios
was wondrous and magical, with happy memories
from my childhood sparked at every turn.

When we entered the Animation Building
we discovered a directory of the current offices
of the people who inspired magic and wonder
for me as an adult - Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.

Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz also
were listed on the directory.
It took every ounce of self-control
to NOT "go visiting".

We were then led to the holy grail for
LOST fans - Building 23.

The LOST sign has since been removed, but
my friends and I lined up in front of
Building 23 with a mixture of awe and reverence.

and two members of the group paid homage
to Damon Lindelof by planking.

We lingered there as a group for awhile,
reflecting on the impact
LOST has made on us.

Sunday at Comic-Con

I decided that I wasn't up for the long lines

and forever waiting for any of the panels

scheduled on Sunday at Comic-Con.

(The long confinement in the "staging area"

from the previous day had taken its toll.)

I headed to the Con and just walked around

for a bit. I had two missions in mind....

score some swag for my friend Bonnie's

granddaughter and head to the Mondo booth.

Through some stretching of the truth...

okay- flat out giant lie,

I talked a woman manning the Phineas & Ferb

booth out of posters and the much-in-demand

bags. Mission one accomplished.

I then headed over to the Mondo booth.

I knew that Kevin Tong, Daniel Danger and

Rob Jones were manning the booth at

various times, and I wanted to meet

some of the artists behind the DCaaPB

LOST prints.

I was fortunate enough to meet all three artists

and purchased Kevin Tong's

"The Invisible Man" for my son

and Daniel Danger's "Cowboys and Aliens"

for myself.

DCaaPB introduced me to not only some

fabulous LOST art but also to some amazing artists.

I have since purchased additional

(non-LOST) art by almost all of the artists

involved with both Series 1 and Series 2

of DCaaPB. Below are my prints by
Danger, Jones and Tong.

Saturday (Not) at Comic-Con: Cowboys and Aliens World Premiere

Early Saturday morning, Bonnie, Scoutpost and I

boarded the #8 bus (LOST connection!!!)

just down the block from The Barracks

to make our way to the line for the

Cowboys and Aliens World Premiere.

The information sheet indicated that the

line formed at ten, which translated to:

people were probably already in line at dawn.

A transfer from the bus to the trolley and

a short time later we were just blocks away from

what would be a very long wait.

There were already about 6-8 in line ahead

of us. Some of our housemates arrived

a bit later and joined us for a photo op.

Hours and hours later, we began to be admitted

into the "staging area" in groups of 5.

Security was thorough: our bags inspected,

bodies scanned, and IDs checked.

We were each given a wristband-

my was gold, which indicated I was

of legal age to consume alcohol at the after-party.

(note: waaaaay old enough)

The "staging area" was a huge ballroom-sized area.

It would be our home for the next 7+ hours.

Refreshments in the form of soft drinks and

Teriyaki Jerky - huh? were provided for us.

The room continued to fill.....

We spent the time chatting, charging our phones, reading,

a lot of wandering around - I can't sit still for that long.

Finally were were led through the doors....

Our little group was among the first in line,

so we were given first choice in seating

once inside the theater. A large section was

marked "Reserved", and we chose the first row

adjacent to the VIP section.

It was all so exciting! I tend to bounce like a human

Bobble-Head out of enthusiasm

and I almost spilled

the complimentary popcorn and drink.

We watched the red carpet arrivals streaming

live on the screen and as the theater began filling with VIPS.

I almost gave myself whiplash looking around for

celebrities. They were EVERYWHERE!!!

Grant Bowler aka Captain Gault of the Kahana

on LOST was seated two rows directly behind me.

Rob McElhenney aka Aldo of the Others on LOST

was seated across the aisle.

The lights dimmed and Jon Favreau took the stage and

began introducing the cast and those associated with

the film. I cannot express the overwhelming

thrill it was to have the idols of my childhood, teens,

heck - MY ENTIRE LIFE

on the stage LIVE in front of me.

(cameras were not allowed)

Damon Lindelof was seated about 5 rows behind

our group just before the move started.

He joined Adam Horowitz and a few others.

The movie was fantastic - though it was difficult to

concentrate at times, knowing that so many of my

idols were seated just feet/yards away.

(I saw it again a few days after returning home

to catch everything I missed in my starstruck coma)

Following the movie, I seized an opportunity

to speak to Damon Lindelof in the lobby.

(I had just exited the restroom as he was passing by)

Lame-o me tapped him on the shoulder and

said some stupid fan-gushing nonsense.

He was very gracious and did not

call security.

But damn! I get so overwhelmed,

I always forget to ask for photo.

A fabulously catered after-party was held

in the courtyard just outside the theater and

we were treated to a variety of food stations,

an open bar and music.

Most of the celebrities left immediately after the

screening to attend other parties/events.

But a few stayed and mingled.

I spotted Grant Bowler and his friends just a few

feet away. My friend Bonnie was brave enough

to approach him and posed for a photo.

But I chickened out of photo op.

He was so incredibly good looking and I am an idiot.

My friend Mib saved the day and had him sign my sketchbook

He returned it to me and kissed my right cheek. Swoon!

I am fine with regular autograph session,

but prospect of approaching celebrities in

social settings is daunting to me.

So I am extremely grateful to Mib for her

courage and to Grant Bowler for being so

understanding and kind to this fangirl.

We had a wonderful time at the party.

I even danced!

(and there is proof in form of

an incriminating video floating around the

world wide web somewhere.)

YIKES!!!

Postscript - I forgot to mention that
premiere attendees received a
Cowboys and Aliens go-cup
after the movie. They were
out of the nicer, covered travel cups
by the time I claimed mine.
I chose the holographic
Harrison Ford giant Slurpee cup....

I later made the trip to a 7-11 to pick

up the Daniel Craig

and Olivia Wilde cups.

(I wanted the complete set.)
Earlier in the week,
LOST_4815162342 purchased
a light-up wrist blaster cup for me.

Friday at Comic-Con: Part 3 Picking up the Passes

Following the LOST panel, my mission was

to redeem the winning Cowboys and Aliens

card from earlier in the day for

World Premiere Passes.

I left the Convention Center and made

my way to the Cowboys and Aliens Saloon.

I turned in my card at the little booth pictured on left

side of above photo and received an instruction sheet

for the next day.

A map was printed on the back of the flyer.

I was then handed two GOLDEN TICKETS

on lanyards. (major Willy Wonka moment.

Now I know how Charlie felt.)

My name and phone number

(!!? Why did they need my phone number?

...a phone call from Daniel Craig or

Harrison Ford....I sorta have active imagination)

were recorded next to the Golden Pass numbers

and I was off to dinner with my

Barracks housemates.

I gave my 2nd "Golden Ticket" to my friend Bonnie,
and plans were made for the EPIC day ahead.

Friday at Comic-Con: Part 2 - The "Totally LOST" Panel

The thing is - I had plans to attend SDCC 2011

waaaaaaay before the EW "Totally LOST"

panel was announced.

I knew that many of the LOST alums

would be at Comic-Con, promoting their new

shows and that, along with spending time

with my friends at The Barracks, was incentive enough.

I have long been a fan of Jeff "Doc" Jensen's

EW LOST columns, printing them out

and adding them to a binder weekly.

His theories throughout the years never ceased to entertain me.

(I'm still lobbying for a compilation book of Jeff Jensen's

LOST columns to be published.)

I was surprised and THRILLED when the

"Totally LOST - One Year Later" panel

was announced on the Comic-Con schedule:

Friday, July 22

3:30-4:30 Entertainment Weekly Presents...Totally LOST: One Year Later— EW'sLost gurus Jeff "Doc" Jensen and Dan "Dan" Snierson wax nostalgic about the past, perhaps with a surprise guest or two, and discuss how they're "moving on" in the wake of Lost's departure from the air a year ago. The duo will look to the future by previewing promising TV obsessions. Room 5AB

I hoped beyond hope that the surprise guests mentioned

would include Darlton or maybe some of the cast.

The venue was small, MUCH smaller than LOST panels

of previous years, so I arrived early - just after the

Jon Favreau/Drew Struzen signing to secure a seat.

I sat through about 3 panels, moving up closer to the dais

after each, finally parking it in the FRONT ROW, along

with some of my friends/housemates from The Barracks.

across the aisle.

Jeff Jensen and Dan Snierson were introduced

to much applause and anticipation.

It speaks so much to both Damon Lindelof's

and Carlton Cuse's appreciation of

video was made and they went to so much

effort to make the panel unforgettable.

Friday at Comic-Con.- Part 1

Friday was another AMAZING day at Comic-Con!

It is still almost too much to wrap my head around,

even two weeks later.

The day started with plans of attending one of the two autograph

signings that Jon Favreau had mentioned the previous night.

Several of my Barracks housemates planned

on continuing to chase down the Cowboys and Aliens

"gold bricks" that were given away at various

locations in the Gaslamp district of San Diego.

They strategically placed themselves at locations

throughout the Gaslamp district, poised for the twitter

alerts that determined each "drop".

The gold bricks were actually made of gold cardboard,

fashioned into the shape of a gold bar. Inside the box

was either a rubber gauntlet (modeled on the one

Daniel Craig wore in the movie) or a

Cowboys and Aliens Tshirt.

A little card inside the box determined if you had

won tickets with a "Congratulations"

or "Try Again" (loser).

Scoutpost got in line at the second autograph

signing location at the Hard Rock Hotel

and I headed for the Exhibition Hall

at Comic-Con where the first autograph

session was scheduled for 11 AM.

I tried to con my way into the Exhibition Hall early

with every Lucy Ricardo trick I ever learned.

But the security at Comic-Con didn't fall for any of it.

I headed for the G4 booth as soon as the doors

officially opened, and so began the process

of hurry up and wait. Again.

I circled the G4 booth and checked back for about

1 1/2 hours until the wristbands for the Favreau/Struzan

signing were distributed. We weren't allowed to officially get

in line for the signing however, so I lurked in vicinity.

And lurked. And lurked. Then it was a case of MOVE IT NOW.

And the line progressed quickly.

We were each handed the Drew Struzen print,

and I was thrilled to see it was a limited edition,

numbered print - mine is 219/500.

Drew Struzen is an iconic movie poster artist,

responsible for over 150 movie prints including

Indiana Jones films, Star Wars films

and the Back to the Future trilogy.

After signing my print. John Favreau made

a big production of handing me one

of the gold bricks - shaking it first and

adding that it "sounded lucky".

Upon checking the card inside,

I quickly tweeted the news to my friends still

in search of winning bricks.

...followed by a tweet to alert

them to get to next signing and win:

And they listened.

We would ALL be going to the World Premiere

of Cowboys and Aliens!!!

So exciting! And it wasn't even noon yet!

LOST Alums at Comic-Con: Alcatraz

Alcatraz is another of the new shows that

I am know will become an addiction for me.

I wish I didn't have to wait until mid-season to see it.

It is filled with LOST connections.....

of course Jorge Garcia stars.

LOST writer/producer Liz Sarnoff is show runner

and Jack Bender recently signed on as director.

JJ Abrams is the executive producer so -

AMAZEBALLS.

Same old story on Alcatraz panel

at Comic-Con....Saturday scheduling conflict,

so I was doubly grateful that I was able to meet

Jorge at the "Friends of the Nerdolution" panel and get his

autograph. (See Thursday at Comic-Con post)

My friend and Barracks housemate CaliPH

gave me his extra Alcatraz mini poster.

It measures 17" x 11".

and I found an Alcatraz hotel key card on the floor

of the Exhibition Hall of Comic-Con on Sunday.

So I picked it up.

It looks a little worse for wear. I think it got

stomped on A LOT before I found it.

LOST Alums at Comic-Con: The Vampire Diaries

Boone died too soon on LOST,

but Damon Salvatore (un)lives on

in The Vampire Diaries.

Ian Somerhalder grew up to be sooooooo attractive.

TVD is a must-see show for me and

Thursdays are pretty much planned around 7PM.

(I live in Central Time Zone)

Nikita & Fringe used to round out

my Thursday viewing - until Fringe was moved to

Fridays (boo!)

It was a case of schedule conflict AGAIN!

of missing the Vampire Diaries panel at Comic-Con.

But I did get The Vampire Diaires

swag bag when picking up my SDCC badge.

The thing is ginormous. Quite frankly,

it is too big for me to carry around without dragging it

on the floor. One side displays SDCC 2011 logo

and the other - Stefan, Elena and Damon.

The bag got a little creased in my suitcase on return trip home.

It should be okay after a little bit of ironing.

LOST Alums at Comic-Con: Ringer

Sarah Michelle Gellar returning to TV is just so fantastic!

(I am long-time Buffy fan.)

Add the LOST connection of

Nestor Carbonell to the cast of Ringer

and I am SOLD!

I missed the panel and autograph session of Ringer at Comic-Con

due to the ever-infuriating scheduling conflict problem.

But I spent a lot of time in line outside the CBS/CW/Showtime

booth and took an iPhone pic of the Ringer promo (on back of booth)

and received a really nice two-sided 11" x 17" mini poster for Ringer.

LOST Alums at Comic Con: Once Upon a Time

Another of the new fall shows that I am

eagerly anticipating is "Once Upon a Time".

The executive producers/writers/shows runners

are Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis of LOST.

And yet another LOST connection: Lana Parilla co-stars.

She portrayed one of "The Others" - Greta.

Bonnie and Greta occupied The Looking Glass Station.

I am a sucker for fairy tales - Once Upon a Time

and Happily Ever After have been my secret mantras

for most of my life. I know the show will be amazing!

I missed the panel for OUaT due to (awesome)

scheduling conflict previously mentioned.

I did watch it online and am even more

excited for the OUaT premiere.

I managed to score some Once Upon a Time swag

at Comic-Con though. My friend Scoutpost gave

me a OUaT mirror.

It's a very nice little compact that lights up

when opened.

It did NOT however, tell me that I am

the fairest one of all.

LOST Alums at Comic Con: Person of Interest

I am so excited that Michael Emerson

is returning to TV this fall in

"Person of Interest".

(produced by JJ Abrams - yet another LOST connection)

I was able to acquire some "Person of Interest"

swag at Comic-Con.

Someone handed me a large postcard on the

Exhibition Hall floor. It was printed on two

sides, advertising "Person of Interest"

panel on Saturday, and redeemable for a

PoI TShirt at the CBS/CW/Showtime booth.

I ran to the booth and snapped a pic with my iPhone of the PoI

promo photo (on the back side of the booth) while waiting in line

to redeem the card for Tshirt.

I also begged and pleaded to keep the postcard

once I was handed the Tshirt. *Eye-roll* from

the girl in the booth, but yay! success!

I returned to the CBS/CW/Showtime booth several

times during Comic-Con and amassed about 10

of the PoI mini-Sharpie-on-a-lanyards....

....as well as an 11"x17" PoI mini-poster.

I had hoped to attend the PoI panel and autograph

signing on Saturday, but scheduling conflict kinda

threw that out the window (more about that

scheduling conflict later - AWESOME).

I did watch the PoI panel online a few days ago.

Michael Emerson is mesmerizing to watch.

I could just listen to him read the dictionary

and be entertained.

The final piece of PoI swag required

complicated trades and some more begging.

But I managed to score one of the PoI

key cards distributed to some guests

staying in hotels around the Convention Center .

Thursday at Comic-Con

This is a LOST collection blog and while there were

daily experiences that related to LOST

I also attended some amazing non-LOST events.

(But truthfully, EVERYTHING seemed to connect back to LOST,
because well - it's ME!)

A group of my Barracks housemates and I

attended the Captain America: The First Avenger

World Premiere. I had won a pass to the premiere

the week preceding Comic-Con.

I also received a pass for two to the premiere while

in line for Comic-Con Preview Night with

Comixguru and Nerderific

that I was able to pass on to two of The Barracks housemates.

We arrived at the theater about 3 hours prior

to the premiere of the movie to secure

a place in line. (The passes did not guarantee

entry into the theater. It was first come, first serve.)

I had the opportunity to meet several LOSTies

in person that I previously only knew on-line.

I met Steve Z. aka "Mr. Show" previously
only know through LostArgs interaction.
He was one of the LOSTies who along with Comixguru
posed with HOST (my head on a stick)
at the Gallery 1988 LOST Art Opening
in December 2009.

It was also a thrill to meet both Justin Sena and Cesar Diaz

since my LOST collection includes their work.

Justin is the artist behind "System Failure"

(glow in the dark element)

and "The Exit"

Cesar made the custom Charlie Pace Vinylmation

An hour or two into our wait in the looooonnnnngggg

line, tickets were passed out for entry into the theater.

My ticket was number 277 on the back.

We also received a 4-pack of Captain America buttons.

and a lithograph poster of the Tyler Stout

Captain America print released by Mondo.

(Tyler Stout of course also did an amazing

LOST print for DCaaPB, Series 1)

Girls dressed in USO outfits passed out the swag

and also performed inside the theater prior

to the start of the movie.

I didn't realize that

the movie was in 3D until we were handed very cool

Captain America-branded 3D glasses

when we entered the theater.

There were rumors that Chris Evans would be attending
the premiere, and they proved to be true.

The movie was fantastic, really well done

and Chris Evan nailed it.

I later received a Captain America poster at Comic-Con.

It measures 11" x17".

ran long, and Patrick McKinley and I had to run run run
to NERD HQ to pick up our badges
for the "Friends of the Nerdolution"
panel led by Zachary Levi.

Lo and behold, Jorge Garcia arrived around the same time
as Pat and I. Pat was able to have his picture taken with
Jorge before handlers ushered him away.

The Friends of the Nerdolution Panel

was amazing! The venue was "intimate" probably

fewer than 200 people in the audience.

The panel included Danny Pudi (Community),

Alessandra Torresani (Caprica),

Alison Hailslip (Attack of the Show!), Zachary Levi (Chuck),

Olivia Munn (Perfect Couples), Jorge Garcia (LOST!!!!! & now Alcatraz)

and Josh Gomez (Chuck).

Everyone was relaxed, candid, and hysterically funny.

The panel was definitely one of the highlights of my stay

in San Diego.

Several of my housemates at The Barracks also

attended the panel. Rob Perrin did a fantastic post about

Friends of the Nerdolution on his blog.

Several of my housemates from The Barracks

and I returned to the Convention Center

following the Friends of the Nerdolution panel.

We decided to attend the Legends panel in Hall H

featuring Jon Favreau and Guillermo de Toro.

Jon Favreau spoke about "Cowboys and Aliens"

(LOST connection of course: Damon Lindelof

co-wrote "Cowboys and Aliens" Clancy Brown aka

Kelvin Inman co-stars in film. Additional Note:

I was finally able to acquire Clancy Brown's autograph

a couple of days later.)

Guillermo del Toro promoted the upcoming

"Don't Be Afraid of the Dark".

They were delightful - funny and irreverent.

Jon Favreau mentioned that he would be attending

two autograph signings with artist Drew Struzan the

following day. He also indicated tickets to

the "Cowboys and Aliens" World Premiere

would be given to a lucky few.

The LOSTie Party: Memories and Keepsakes

The LOSTie party was a joint effort by the residents

of The Barracks to celebrate LOST

and gather together as friends and fans.

Guests to the party received an amazing invitation

and instruction letter by mail about a month prior to the event.

Lottery Ticket was the mastermind/leader of the group/organizer

to the entire event. She made all of the arrangements for

The Barracks and created the best invitation

I have ever received.

The envelope gave a hint to the level of
awesomeness it contained:

Rob Perrin was responsible for editing and finessing

the accompanying letter from Castro Blareski.
(obviously an alias)

a post-it note attached to the letter

provided additional information.

MEL and Kiwilostie were the primary

chefs/cook/grillmasters for the dinner.

I missed the beginning of the party since I was

still at Preview Night at Comic Con,

But I can attest that my late dinner was

terrific and the spread was impressive.

CaliPH was the official photographer.

I can't wait to see his photos!

He is traveling for his job right now, so it will

be a couple of weeks before he returns home

and can post the pictures

without a nod to Hawaii!

Comixguru made the nametags

for the event. Many of us had never met in person

and it made for an easy way to identify people

whose online icon gave no clue as to what they

looked like in real life.

The Barracks symbol on the nametag

was designed by Lottery Ticket and can also

be seen on the instruction letter above.

Chris L had custom mugs made as keepsakes

with iconic images from LOST - a different

image on each mug.

John Locke's orange slice smile

decorates mine.

Zort70 made awesome

Pinky and The Brain/LOST mashup

placards and refrigerator magnets

for the event.

JST_THINKING made amazing

bookmarks that were included in the party favor bags.

The stained glass effect is incredible

and the bookmark is just beautiful.

I made some little mementos of

an "Evening at The Barracks"

that were comprised of backgammon pieces,

one light,one dark.

(The flip side of the light backgammon piece

reads: SDCC 2011. The tag contains Christian's words

to Jack in the Sanctuary from the LOST Finale.)

JST_THINKING also recreated

Hurley's Golf course flag and

guests at the LOSTie party

participated in a putting contest....

...in addition to Jo Garfein's LOST Trivia.

Guests were subjected to an orientation film

and "testing" upon arrival to the party.

The Orientation Film was made by Ben Murphy.

The film was fantastic if not a little

creepy and the testing left me traumatized.

But it was all very cool.

Prizes were awarded for the testing and the party games,

contributed by various members of the group.

The three guests who attended the party in costume

were each awarded one of the LOST Live screen prints

by Kevin Tong. Patrick McKinley

attended in Dharma Khaki shirt and shorts,
and Jared Wong and David Hanson wore Dharma jumpsuits.

They are pictured below with Jo Garfein.

Kevin Tong's original sketches for The Hatch print

were presented to Lottery Ticket by the residents

of The Barracks in appreciation for all of her efforts in

coordinating EVERYTHING.

Thanks to Scoutpost for coordinating the

the purchase of the gift with Kevin Tong

and to Bonnie Green for picking up the

sketches in Los Angeles and transporting them to San Diego.

Scoutpost also commissioned a fantastic card

that was presented to Lottery Ticket signed by all of

the residents of The Barracks.

We presented Jo Garfein with

"The Hatch Painting" print by Jack Bender

in appreciation for being a LOST champion

extraordinaire and leading the LOST Trivia.

Party favor bags were distributed to party guests as they left

The Barracks. (A special thanks to Nate Duval for

allowing me to use an image from his print "The Barracks"

on buttons and stickers for the party favor bags.

Also thanks to Chris L for designing the lettering

on the logo. I don't know how to do any of that

sort of thing, so am very grateful for the contribution)

Decorating The Barracks - Part 3: Banners, THE Quilt, a Polar Bear & a Palm Tree

I've covered the decorating of The Barracks on the outside

in the previous two posts.

We made sure that both of the condos that comprised

The Barracks were appropriately decorated on the inside as well.

My friend Bonnie displayed her famous LOST quilt next to

an Oceanic banner I shipped from home.

It was my first time seeing the quilt in person

and it is absolutely stunning. The quilt has made appearances

at several LOST events, and was signed by both

Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse at

the LOST Art Exhibit Opening

at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles

in December of 2009.

Lottery Ticket shipped some LOST art from her home

that adorned a wall in the main living room of the corner condo.

The adjacent condo was where "the boys" bunked

and was the primary location for the LOSTie party on

Comic Con Eve.

Patrick McKinley had an impressive

"Namaste New Recruits" banner made for the occasion.

I didn't measure it, but the banner must have spanned

at least 10 feet.

Note: Pat was also responsible for the fantastic Dharma Comic Con

banner displayed at the EW Totally LOST panel.

The fabulous Jo Garfein made the arrangements

and it was pinned to the dais with several of her

jopinionated mini buttons.

And what would a LOSTie party be without

a polar bear and a palm tree?

The polar bear was a cardboard standup -

measuring about 4 1/2 feet at its tallest point.

The inflatable palm tree was about 5 1/2 feet tall.

Kudos to Paul McQue/LOST_4815162342 for inflating it

with amazing lung capacity all by himself.

Decorating The Barracks - Part 2 (The Stained Glass Numbers)

I really admired zort70/Ian Knight's design

incorporating the LOST Numbers & the stained glass window

seen in the LOST finale.

I have it set as the lockscreen of my iPhone.

I had one of my slightly crazy ideas to use the design

to decorate The Barracks.

I contacted Ian about modifying and enlarging it - A LOT-

to be used on a window cling to greet

guests entering The Barracks.

The window cling was ordered in dimensions

that just happened to fit my kitchen door

window for use after Comic Con.

The taller members of our group applied the window cling

to a large picture window on the corner condo unit.

Quite a few pedestrians passing by The Barracks

stopped to comment on the window cling.

Most of them recognized the numbers as

being from LOST, but a few questioned

if our group was a religious sect. (hahahaha)

Sad Postscript: The window cling was damaged

while I attempted to remove it when it was time to

vacate The Barracks. So it ended up in the trash

instead of on my kitchen door window.

I do plan on reordering ASAP.

Decorating The Barracks - Part 1

The condos we rented in San Diego

were amazing in many ways, primarily the location-

just a few steps from the beach.

But they needed a little makeover - LOST style.

I made pennant-style banner components

before arriving in Sand Diego - lots

of poster board and glue sticks going on.

Members of the group strung up the numbers

to decorate the adjoining decks

of The Barracks before the LOSTie party.

An additional banner with four runs of the numbers

was hung in the trees on the outside edges of the decks.

The Swan Station by MegoScott

One of the highlights of the LOSTie party at The Barracks

was meeting MegoScott aka Scott Adams, and

having him debut his newly completed

Swan Station playset for the

BifBangPow! LOST Megos.

I just received the shipping notice for my set,

been busy making/buying lots of outfits

and accessories to customize Sawyer, Juliet,

Jack, Sayid, Claire and Miles.

Labeling The Barracks

In case you haven't noticed, I tend to be

very enthusiastic and get carried away in

all matters relating to LOST.

So I made Dharma labels for The Barracks....

LOTS of labels. I made labels for everything I

could think of - and then some.

Wednesday night at The Barracks.

I also intended to wear them to the

EW Totally LOST panel at Comic Con.

However, intentions and reality did not

meet as planned. The only time I actually

wore the sash and tiara was for a

pose with blue bunny.

Dharma Chefs

I spent months prior to my trip to San Diego and Comic Con

making decorations, party favor bags, Dharma labels and

just about anything else I could think of to give

"The Barracks" and the LOSTie party

as definitive a LOST theme as possible.

So, my preparations included a couple of

Dharma accessories to be worn at The Barracks.

The first of these was a Dharma apron & chef's hat.

I decorated the apron with an iron-on transfer and

used the Dharma Chef patch that was included

with the LOST Season 5 special Dharma Initiative

Blu-Ray set.

Head Chef MEL wore the hat and apron

while preparing his special Dharma chili.

Grillmaster Kiwilostie later wore the hat & apron

while preparing dinner for the group at The Barracks.

Comic Con/The Barracks

I just returned from a mind-boggling week in

San Diego for Comic Con 2011.

The trip was fantastic! I met amazing Losties,

shared accomodations with a group of online friends

that I finally got to met in person and generally geeked out.

Once-in-a-lifetime experiences abounded.....

a LOSTie party at "The Barracks"

(the name we dubbed the two adjacent condos

our group rented for the week),

attending the world premieres

of Captain America and Cowboys and Aliens,

a tour through Disney animation studios and the abc lot

by my friend Alice/comixguru

(lots of poses in front of building 23,

the former home of the LOST writers and

more pictures of the office directory in the building where

Darlton and the gang now have offices.)

and the amazing LOST panel hosted by Jeff Jensen

and Dan Snierson from EW.

There were so many highlights to the trip that it may take a few

days to let it all sink in. My LOST collection has also expanded

with autographs, mementos, gifts from my friends

at The Barracks, and so many photos that it will

take weeks to process and organize them all.

Stay tuned for new posts from the trip.

Today I return to my real life (boo!)

and back to work.

My son Alex has completed another LOST

stencil painting. The first was of Desmond,

done in the style of some of drMikey's

LOST paintings.

a 3 color/layer stencil he made

from a screen capture of Eloise Hawking.

Alex created the painting for Eloise Hawking's biggest

fan - my friend, Matt Roeser. But he made one for me as well....

for assistance in getting word out that she has another piece

of fantastic LOST-related memorabilia offered for sale.

For sale: The authentic Rfavela turquoise choker worn

by Evangeline Lilly when she appeared on “The View”

This necklace was purchased directly from the owner of Rfavela (Claudia Cox) from an auction she did selling Rfavela jewelry items that Evangeline Lilly wore on her promo tour for Cannes film festival. I managed to purchase the necklace which Claudia also told me was made in Canada at Evangeline’s Canadian home during holidays! Evangeline Lilly is one of the 3 founders of Rfavela along with Claudia. I have never worn this necklace, it was purchased for display and it is very beautiful.

Although I did not get a COA with this because I bought it directly from the owner of Rfavela (don’t really need proof when you get it from her own store hehe), she did include a postcard of Hawaii signed on the back by herself which I can send as well. Claudia not only is the owner of Rfavela, but also worked as Evangeline’s double during every season on Lost! They were also roommates during the filming so you can be sure this is the EXACT necklace worn by Evangeline!

Geographical Study of LOST Retrospective by Jonah Adkins

I purchased a fantastic geographical study of THE ISLAND.

Jonah Adkins is the cartographer.

It is available at imagekind.

Due to space considerations, I ordered the 16" x 20" map.

The map is really well done, including the location

of Dharma Stations and the important sites

as seen on LOST.

LOST in Comics: Roger Workman's Mystery Machine

I am just so enamored of JJ Harrison's work on

Lost In Comics

-especially the Desmond and Penny Fairy Tale Book.

It combines two of my favorite things,

Desmond and Once Upon a Time/Happily Ever After.

I have purchased several of his LOST in Comics prints.

I have already posted two of them:

"Down the Hatch"

and

"The Big Bang Paradox",

as well as his

Faraday & Sawyer watercolor prints.

"Roger Workman's Mystery Machine"

makes me smile every time I look at it.

It relives one of my favorite moments

on LOST, so I purchased both the print

and the Tshirt (from MySoti)

LOST Official Props: Candlestick

As noted in earlier posts, I purchased a number of the minor

LOST props that were sold in at the Prop Warehouse sale

in Hawaii. I specifically purchased props that were distinctive

in appearance, thinking they would be easier to

locate in specific episodes of LOST.

That being said, I haven't been able to pinpoint

the specific episodes for most of the props during my

rewatches (yet). I get too involved in the story

and forget to check for props.......

I am almost certain that this candlestick appeared

in a Sayid-centric episode as it is Middle-Eastern/Mediterranean

in style. I would appreciate a heads up

if anyone knows in which episode it can be seen.

The candlestick (as well as all of the other props)

came with a COA.

through my extreme fandom of LOST.

I was recently contacted by LOST fan and fellow

collector, Madison Zoepel.

She asked my assistance in offering

her autographed script from the "Pilot"

episode. It is signed by 10 cast

members and JJ Abrams.

Madison is trying to raise money for a trip and

The script is a rare final production copy, and has

Rittenhouse LOST Relic Trading Cards

Rittenhouse released its third set of LOST Trading cards May 11.

It is an awesome set, containing 8 autograph cards,

30 wardrobe cards, and relic cards featuring signage for

both Mr. Cluck's Chicken Shack and a piece of Oceanic 815.

I still haven't acquired all of the cards from the Rittenhouse

LOST Seasons 1-5 and LOST Archive sets, but am only

missing a couple of cards from each set. The search for the

missing cards at the right price is half the fun though.

I ordered two packages of the new LOST Relic cards

to keep me pacified for the time being. They are pricey, each

pack runs about $50 and contains 1 autograph card

and 3 relic or costume cards.

The first pack yielded a jackpot!

Damon Lindelof Autograph card, Rose Nadler Costume card,

Naomi Dorrit Costume card & Miles Straume costume card.

This costume piece is from the LOST Finale "The End".

Naomi #324/350

This costume piece is from the Season 3 episode "Catch-22"

and conains a piece of Naomi's parachute suit.

ONE OF A KIND ABC'S LOST PRODUCTION PIECE - 12"X16" COMPUTERIZED PRODUCTION PLANS "TEMPLE/CHAMBER"" FROM THE PRODUCTION/ MAKING OF LOST. THIS PIECE IS FROM LOST SEASON 5 -EPISODES 516/517 "THE INCIDENT" . This was part of lot #914 of the Official Lost Auction Aug 21&22, 2010.

I purchased this particular piece from the person who bought the

entire lot at the LOST Auction. He included a copy of the original

Certificate of Authenticity with the production plan sheet.
