Peg Bundy----->Helen Norwood

I mentioned a couple of posts ago that I have become
fascinated with LOST Megos and the possibilities for
customization after reading Scott Adams's blog

I followed up on a lot of his suggestions
and purchased a Peg Bundy figure from the
'Married With Children" Series at
It's kind of difficult to realize that Katey Sagal
was Peggy Bundy before she was Helen Norwood or even
Gemma Teller-Morrow.

BifBangPow! was obviously not going to issue a "Helen"
figure to keep John Locke company, so customizing a Peg Bundy
figure seemed a logical choice.

Peg needs a makeover.....

First to go was the necklace and spandex outfit.
Helen is much more conservative than Peg.
The earrings are molded as part of the head, so they have to stay.

I redressed Peg in a sleeveless denim shirt and tan pants and
brown boots I removed from a Breyer Vet doll. I bought the
Vet figure on Ebay (for cheap), specifically for her clothes and accessories.
(I'll save the lab coat and stethoscope for
 customizing my Jack Shephard figure.)

Next in the transformation of Peg into Helen came the haircut.
Doll hair is more difficult to work with than I realized.
(but then again, I haven't cut a doll's hair since I was five and
took my my frustration from an ugly pixie haircut out on Barbie)
Hair styled as best as I could manage, modifying the hair color
was next step. Here I am an expert.......I used the snippets of Peg's
hair that I cut off to test what method would work best for toning
down the vibrant pinkish red to a more subdued color. A brown Crayola
marker actually yielded the best result. (I taped over the doll face
to avoid getting overlap from coloring Peg's roots.)

The result:

I didn't realize that Helen's head is overly large until
John Locke  joined her for a little smooch time.
It was a little tricky photographing the two together
while minimizing the head size differences...

Autograph - Paul Scheer

Okay...so Paul Scheer didn't appear on LOST.
But he did costar in many of the "LOST Smackdown"
mobisodes. And he was the "spokesman"
for the LOST Underground Art Project
aka DamonCarltonAndAPolarBear.

He kicked off the ARG at Comic Con 2009
with the presentation of the Damon, Carlton and a Polar Bear
painting done on black velvet (actual artist - Misha).

LOST Megos

Four of the LOST Mego action figures that were on preorder
from Entertainment Earth have arrived!
Ben, Kate, Locke and Hurley have joined
Man in Black and Jacob.

I am really excited about customizing these figures since
stumbling upon the amazing customizations
done by Scott Adams (@megoscott on Twitter)

He has created a Dharma Van and is working on Oceanic 815
for the figures. He also has created custom outfits for some of the
Megos. I spent the better part of last weekend following the links
on his blog to purchase items to embark on my own LOST Mego Island.

I'll be updating this collection blog with the customizations as they are complete.
In the meantime, I highly recommend checking out Scott's blog :

Closeups of each of the new figures:

Ben in "Others" clothing

Kate

Locke

Hurley dressed in his Santa Rosa robe and slippers

Jack, Sayid, Sawyer, Juliet, Miles and Claire
are the next figures scheduled for release in July.
They can be preordered at Entertainment Earth.

Rock'em Sock'em Candidates

I am a huge fan of Mike Myers aka drawsgood and
his LOST The Animated Series.
I have a small print of it framed in my LOST room.

He recently had another LOST-inspired project released
at teefury.com : Rock'em Sock'em Candidates.
Mike also made the design available in print form
at imagekind.com. I purchased both.

LOST in Comics: The Big Bang Paradox

I adore JJ Harrison's take on LOST through his site,
lostincomics.com

The LOST/Big Bang Theory mashup of
"The Big Bang Paradox"
is a particular favorite.
It is the largest of JJ's comics that I have purchased,
measuring 13" x 19".

Autograph - Skyler Stone

I just acquired a 6" x 4" card autographed by Skyler Stone.
He portrayed EMT Simon Holt, the paramedic who transported
Locke to the hospital after Desmond's hit and run
in the Season 6 episode "The Last Recruit".

(He has a very cool signature.)

More LOST Stickers by jimiyo

I posted a photo of some jimiyo LOST stickers I purchased back in October from redbubble.com

jimiyo recently made the John Locke stickers available on his website as well, so of course I ordered some.
I received 3 Hurley stickers with order as a bonus for being one of the first 10 orders.

These John Locke stickers more closely resemble the design
featured on the TeeFury shirts I purchased,
with the "WWJLD" caption. One of the Tshirts was made into a pillow.

Island Map Prop Replica

I recently purchased a prop replica of Rousseau's full island map.
It is very authentic-looking, the artist did a wonderful job
replicating the prop.  It measures approximately 10" x 8".

Santa left a couple of LOST-related items in my stocking...
a "Candidate" bumper sticker, and a refrigerator magnet.
